We recently decided to combine our 3 Winter Warmth projects into one project – our “Share the Warmth” Project, which includes:
- Barefoot for a Day
- Get WRAPPED
- Snug as a Bug
LFCT provides our beneficiaries – in hospital and at home – with new shoes, clothing, and blankets to see them through the very cold winter months. We cannot gift our beneficiaries with second-hand clothing due to the need for complete sanitary conditions as their immune systems are compromised from both cancer and the treatments.
Our beneficiaries are between 0 – 18 years of age, with the bulk of them being between the ages of 4 and 12.
Clothing needs for this project include:
- Boys and Girls Underwear, all sizes
- Boys and Girls Socks, all sizes
- Long sleeved vests, all sizes
- Tracksuits, all sizes
- Warm jackets, all sizes
- Pyjamas, all sizes
- Boys and Girls Long Pants and Jeans, all sizes
- Boys and Girls Long sleeved t-shirts, all sizes
- Boys and Girls Long sleeved warm tops, all sizes
- Girl’s Dresses and Skirts, all sizes
- Girl’s Tights, all sizes
- New shoes for girls, boys and teens
- New, preferably soft, single bed blankets
- Warm, knitted scarves
- Beanies and winter hats/caps
All goods distributed to children with cancer are NEW, due to their impaired immune systems, which make them highly prone to infections.
