On Sunday 3 March I was privileged to attend the Marian Dorrington Annual Memorial Golf Day, of which the Little Fighters Cancer Trust was the beneficiary, at the Somerset West Golf Club.

The day is held annually by the Dorrington Family in remembrance of wife and mother, Marian, who was an avid golf player and passed away from cancer a few years ago.

It turned out to be a beautiful day and the field of around 80 male and female golfers had a wonderful time, (especially at the “wet holes” I am sure) and even though the R100 000 “hole-in-one” was not achieved, there were many other prizes up for grabs and also some wonderful goodies that were auctioned.

LFCT manned (wo-manned) an Awareness table for the entire day and also gave a short presentation to those present about the need for awareness of childhood cancer and what we do to help children with cancer and their families.

Thanks to those of you who came up to chat and find out more, to those who made cash donations, and to those who bought awareness ribbons -we appreciate it all.

Most of all, a massive thank you to Team Dorrington – YOU ROCK!!!
