A month or two ago I was invited to chat to the residents of Klaradyn Retirement Village in Brackenfell to tell them a bit more about the work that the Little Fighters Cancer Trust does with Children with Cancer and their Families.

Team “Vlytige Hande” from Klaradyn are a group of residents that have been donating beautiful winter clothes and blankets – which they have crocheted or knitted – annually for the past four winters.

After our meeting and after quite a lengthy Q&A, they understood more about what LFCT does and the position in which our Childhood Cancer affected Families find themselves, and last week I received a surprise phone call to come and visit and collect some more donations.

I love chatting to the ladies and having “tee en koek” with them so of course I agreed with alacrity, and when I arrived the next morning, this is what awaited me…

Baie baie dankie aan die dames van Vlytige Hande – onse kindjies sal al die mooi sagte poppies en teddies, sowel as die mussies en slippertjies baie geniet.
