Hi Folks – our Little Fighter Kenzo and his family really need your help!
As those of you who follow our Facebook Page know, Kenzo has been in and out of hospital again over the past few months due to a relapse, and he was recently rushed back to hospital after a particularly bad reaction to the chemotherapy he was receiving.
Due to his allergic reaction to the chemo he was receiving, an alternate chemo needed to be sourced, and yesterday his mother contacted me in tears – the replacement chemo is going to cost R61 605-50 for FIVE vials, of which Discovery Health will only pay 50%!!
PLEASE do whatever you can to help his parents defray these costs  (see link further down), which are only a portion of what Kenzo’s treatment is costing them – NO ONCO PARENT should go through this over and above dealing with their child being deathly ill with the bastard cancer!!

Kenzo, affectionately dubbed “?Our Little Prince?”, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) on the 04 Feb 2016, at the age of 8 months. At this young age, Kenzo went through 9 months of intensive chemo therapy and was blessed to be in remission for just over a year.
On the 27 Feb 2018, he completed his chemotherapy treatments. One month later, a bone marrow biopsy was done; which resulted in a clear bone marrow on the 03 Apr 2018.
However, over the Easter weekend, Kenzo started complaining of headaches and days later it became worse and he started vomiting.
The evening of the 09 Apr 2018 he was admitted to hospital and a full blood count, CT Scan & Lumbar Puncture (spinal tap) were done the following day. Doctors advised his parents that they had found cells, but they still investigating as to what type of cells they were.
On the 11 Apr 2018 (a mere 9 days after getting the all clear) his parents received the devastating news that Kenzo had relapsed, and that the cancer had spread to his Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) (The liquid around your brain and spinal cord).
The 13 Apr 2018 he started his 4 months of intensive chemo therapy once again. His name was also added to the registry for a donor, as he will need a bone marrow transplant.
So far Kenzo has had several rounds of aggressive chemotherapy, countless finger pricks, many blood and platelet transfusions, 5 Bone marrow biopsies & 25 lumbar punctures, and things are set to continue this way for a while yet…
It is so sad that such a young lad has to go through all this pain and discomfort, yet always does so with such a beautiful smile on his face – our Little Fighters are our HEROES because they are SO strong!!!! They come in first as Superheroes, closely followed by our Onco Parents, because it take a very special kind of parent to go through all the physical, psychological, emotional and financial stress that Childhood Cancer brings – we salute you ALL!! ?? ?

Kenzo’s Mommy has set up a Back-a-Buddy Page for donations to fundraise for our Little Prince’s treatments – PLEASE click on the link below to go directly to Kenzo Li Phillips’ Back-a-Buddy Page and donate whatever you can to help this Family.

Remember, whether you can afford R50, R100, or R1 000 or R10 000 – every little bit helps; no donation is too small (due to this new info the target is being raised to R150 000)

Kenzo also still needs a Blood Marrow Donor, so if anyone out there is a donor or would like to sign up to be a donor, you can do so at the South African Bone Marrow Registryplease mention that you are testing to be a possible donor for Kenzo Li Phillips!!
